Election Process Changes for the General Election 4 July 2024

The General Election is on Thursday, 4 July 2024

Several changes have been made to the election process:

 

 

·        Postal votes must be reapplied for every three years. Online ID checks are now required for all absentee voting applications.

·        You can act as a proxy for up to two people, or up to four if two live overseas.

·        Apply for a postal vote by 5pm on Wednesday, 19 June at https://www.gov.uk/apply-postal-vote

·        Register to vote by 11.59pm on Tuesday, 18 June.

·        Proxy vote applications are due by 5pm on Wednesday, 26 June at www.gov.uk/apply-proxy-vote.

·        Voters must show photographic ID to vote in person. Expired IDs are accepted if the photo is recognisable.

For those without acceptable ID, apply for a free voter authority certificate by 5pm on Wednesday, 26 June at https://www.gov.uk/apply-for-phot-id-voter-authority-certificate

Polling stations are open from 7am to 10pm.

Selsey North Residents Polling Station: Selsey Centre, Manor Road

Selsey South Residents Polling Station: Selsey Town Hall, High Street
