Flood Mitigation Works starting at Manor Green Park on Monday 8 April 2024

Selsey Town Council is set to commence flood mitigation works at Manor Green Park next week, weather permitting.

These essential works are anticipated to last approximately three weeks, during which time certain areas of the park will be designated for construction activities. Additionally, a fenced area will be established by the car park, to the right of the Selsey Centre. This area will provide a workers' welfare unit, and site for the spoil before it is responsibly removed.

To ensure site safety, designated work areas will be clearly marked off within the park. You're kindly requested to adhere to these markings and avoid entering restricted zones for your own safety. Please also be aware that there will be some vehicular movements across the park as the spoil generated during the mitigation process is moved to the area by the car park.

"We recognise the inconvenience these works may cause, but they are essential in mitigating some of the areas effected by flood issues at Manor Green Park," stated Ian Martin, Chair of the Assets & Amenities Committee. "We appreciate, your cooperation and understanding during this period as we work to improve this outdoor space as promised in the Town Council's Council Plan."

Selsey Town Council remains committed to improving our outside spaces for you and will keep you informed on the progress of the flood mitigation works and any updates regarding access to the park.

These updates will be provided through our official communication channels - on our noticeboards and Facebook page.
